Honoring the life and work of a respected architect meant creating more than just a resting place — it meant designing a space that reflected his passion and values. Completed in 2016, this mausoleum incorporates many of his favorite design elements: pebble washout walls, jalousie windows, lush landscaping, and a graceful spiral staircase. At the heart of the project was the family’s wish for a place that encourages togetherness. Inside, a cozy TV area with a three-seater sofa was added for intimate visits, while wide wooden steps at the entrance double as outdoor seating. A roof deck “tambayan” offers space for larger gatherings, creating a setting that welcomes both quiet reflection and shared moments. Despite the compact footprint, the mausoleum was carefully planned to include a full toilet and bath, an outdoor sink, and even a small aviary — making it not only a tribute, but also a uniquely personal sanctuary for family and friends.
