In 2013, VCDC was tasked with the design-and-build retrofit of the old Payless Truck Center in Parañaque — a project that required balancing innovation with preservation. While the existing structural framing system of the building was retained, the overall facility underwent a thoughtful redesign to bring it up to modern standards. The approach centered on the creative use of materials to redefine the building’s aesthetic without erasing its identity. Clean lines, updated finishes, and a refreshed façade gave the structure a contemporary appeal, while design elements true to the brand ensured that the Payless Truck Center remained instantly recognizable to its loyal customers. This project highlights VCDC’s ability to adapt existing structures to new purposes, proving that transformation can be achieved without losing character. By combining functionality, brand integrity, and visual impact, the retrofit gave new life to a trusted establishment and reinforced Payless Truck Center’s enduring presence in the industry.
